We’re looking for positive, upbeat films that will encourage Sky viewers to become more climate friendly.
Our judges will be using three criteria to choose the five best entries:
1. Inspiration and creativity
No one wants to be preached at, or told they’re irresponsible. If you want people to pay attention, you need to be entertaining and creative. Sometimes, being funny about something serious can be seriously funny… and very effective.
Our expert judges will be looking for films that will grab the attention of Sky viewers, and make them really want to take action. They’re also hoping your idea says something different about being green. They want to be surprised.
At Sky we’ve learnt that the best content is positive, persuasive and passionate. Don’t be afraid of your own creativity.
2. About climate change
What can Sky viewers do about climate change? We know they’re interested in taking action, but many of them are confused about what works.
Climate change is a huge subject and it affects everyone. We all have a direct impact through the way we travel and the energy we use in our homes. But don’t forget about the wider impacts too: from the food we eat to the waste we throw away.
Sky’s
partners, WWF and the Energy Saving Trust, have great introductions to climate change on their websites. They are also fantastic for really effective actions we can all take. Of course, if you have a fantastic new idea, we all want to hear it.
Amongst our judging panel will be climate change experts who will check the accuracy of the films. They obviously won’t accept anything that makes incorrect or outrageous claims. However, the judges will be very interested in credible and effective ideas.
3. Production quality
We know you might not be an expert, and we’re not looking for the new Scorsese or Tarantino. But if you’ve planned your film well and thought it through, you’ll probably find you’re over half way there.
This is your chance to reach millions of people with your climate message. The judges respect Sky’s 8.5 million viewers, so they will choose films where every detail has been carefully considered.
